Sleep Training with your Baby during Coronavirus

If you’re stuck at home, you might have better luck sleep training your baby successfully! Hi, I’m Lauren, founder of Sleep + the City, and today I wanted to address why stay-at-home Moms and social distancing families might actually be MORE successful sleep training their babies due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak keeping more families at babies at home. Let’s go through some top reasons that this is the perfect opportunity to being sleep training your baby.

Sleep Training with your Baby during the Coronavirus Pandemic, is it even possible?

It’s actually BETTER to start sleep training your baby if you’re planning to stay home for an extended period of time, and here’s why:

  • Limiting social obligations will help your baby not only stay on schedule, but reduce chances of becoming overstimulated, and unable to take a decent nap, or go to bed on time.

  • Stay-at-home Moms actually have the BEST success rates, as they are able to focus more on sleep training their babies with limited distractions.

  • Accidental car naps are a minimum, due to the fact that all sleep training with baby will be attempted at home, especially during the coronavirus outbreak.

  • You’ll be able to stay on schedule better while sleep training

  • If you are sleep training while staying at home with baby and limiting social gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s less likely that your baby will develop a cold or mild fever just from exposure to other children at school or on playdates.

  • You’ll be able to manage wake windows properly, without chances of baby becoming overtired or under tired during sleep training.

But what if I haven’t start sleep training yet? Am I too late? I feel like my baby is untrainable or I’m sleep training my baby the wrong way!

This whole “sleep training” thing can be overwhelming, right?

Whether it’s your very first babe or your third, it probably feels like you can’t learn (or re-learn) it all fast enough...
